PROBLEM
- The unemployment rate of young people with disabilities in Spain is 60% (Universia). This is a serious challenge for labour inclusion and society.
- Fundación Prevent creates awareness, accompanies, trains and connects people with disabilities and companies to achieve labour inclusion.
- Over 12 years the Fundación Prevent has given bursaries to more than 500 university students with disabilities.
Fundación Prevent wants to create an innovative solution to the unemployment crisis for young people with disabilities.
APPROACH
- Fakawee worked closely with the Fundación Prevent using the Fakawee Method®.
- We held workshops and conducted empathy interviews with various stakeholders in order to understand the underlying problems of labour inclusion.
- We analysed the future of work trends and what that may mean for labour inclusion of young people with disabilities.
- We held ideation workshops with students and companies in order to create a new solution.
OUTCOME
- Talenteando, is an incubation programme for diversity and inclusion. It attracts, supports and promotes labour inclusion of young talent with disabilities and higher education.
- Talenteando’s objective is to facilitate the hiring of young talent, as well as to offer young people their first opportunity to access the labor market, through the completion of their curricular internships or an internship contract.
- Through experiential activities and training in professional and personal development, young people and professionals from participating companies have the opportunity to meet, work together, learn and convert workplaces into more inclusive and diverse environments .
