LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® & DESIGN THINKING WORKSHOP

PROBLEM
In 2018 the University of Stellenbosch launched its Vision 2040 and Strategic Plan 2019 – 2024. The University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) is facing tough questions such as:
- How can we develop responsible leaders through well-grounded business education and research?
- What impact will the big shifts in the management of education have for the future of business school?
- How can we support future leaders?
APPROACH
- Experts from diverse departments participated in a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and Design Thinking discovery workshop.
- Participants shared knowledge and ideas of the current status and aspirations for their courses.
- They identified top issues that need to be addressed and synergies across programmes.
- Fakawee facilitated a design thinking workshop where participants worked in diverse teams to solve different challenges.
OUTCOME
- The teams shared complex issues, identified challenges and synergies across departments.
- They prioritised the key development areas for the academic offering and delivery modes and created 3 conceptual solutions to 3 different, but complementary, challenges.
