PROBLEM
Hospital Clínic de Barcelona is a leader in innovation in medical care. It is a public university hospital renown for its healthcare, research and teaching.
The hospital’s Strategic Plan aims to continuously improve the hospital for the patients and professionals.
The hospital wished to immerse a team of professionals from different departments in the design thinking methodology. The objective of the workshops was to learn the design thinking process by applying the methodology to solve a challenge.
APPROACH
Fakawee collaborated with Hospital Clínic in the design and facilitation of design thinking workshops.
During 3 days professionals from different departments in the hospital (doctors, nurses, administration, nutrition…) worked in teams to solve a challenge.
During the workshop teams consulted with patients and colleagues to gain a better understanding of the problem. They then applied ideation techniques in order to create various solutions.
OUTCOME
Four different solutions were created. Teams then created low fidelity prototypes which they tested with patients and colleagues.
Participants developed their own Innovation Toolkit during the workshop.
