How can we provide better care for patients using agile methodologies?

PROBLEM

Organisations need to create new and better products and services for the clients. This requires a new way of thinking and a fresh approach to problem solving and experimentation.
The company wanted to challenge existing assumptions about their patients and wanted to explore how they could provide better care.
Some of the challenges include the following:

• How can patients have better disease management?
• How might we help doctors to embrace digital innovation?
• How can we improve information management in hospitals?

APPROACH

Fakawee collaborated with ESADE Business and Law School, Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya (UPC) and EINA (design school of the Universidad Autónomo de Barcelona) to create and deliver a 3 months immersive learning experience.
Eight multi-disciplinary teams from the 3 universities worked together in order to tackle a tough problem faced by the organisation.
The methodology included design thinking and Lean Startup.

OUTCOME

Teams conducted extensive market research and user interviews to understand the problems better. Initial solutions were created and shared with users. Following the feedback the solutions were improved and final prototypes were created. A business model was also developed.
